Chris Keen
Chartered Surveyor - Director and Founder
Started work in 1976 with a Local Practice as a drawing office junior.
Went to Reading College on a day release course to become a Chartered Building Surveyor.
Qualified in 1984 & worked up to a Senior Partner until leaving in 1993 to start his own Practice.
Chris would like to thank Alan Sylvester FRICS who sadly passed away a few years ago now who trained him during those early days at Patrick Williams & Partners & later Building Design Services.
Chris has always specialised in design & construction of all types of residential buildings & on site assistance for Developers & Employers with little experience. The services are tailored to each individual requirements.
Chris also qualified as a Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor & as a CABE understands the structural side which is valuable when designing & discussing with structural engineers.
Chris has also dealt with Party Wall matters but now works with a PW specialist so understands the principles & process.
Chris is often involved with financial & time planning for both clients & sometimes their financiers & is ovay with MicroSoft Project.
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, Chris is KEEN to ensure it can be built efficiently !
Interests-
A passion for GT motor racing as his son Phil is one of the most successful GT racers in the Country, Phil has been racing since 8 yoa & went professional at 25 yoa (thank goodness)
Pete – successfully involved in Club racing with Chris.
John- track day enthusiast & looks after the IT side of the business.
Gemma Beazley
Senior administrator and Personal assistant
Hi I am Gemma Beasley and I am the administration and Personal Assistant to Chris Keen at The Keen Partnership. I also help the other members of staff with their paperwork 7 planning applications.
I have been with the Company since 2017 coming from a retail background and have since grown a wealth of knowledge relating to the business. My main focus is to organise the paperwork and liaise with clients and Planning authorities to a successful conclusion. I am normally to first point of contact when taking phone calls from new & existing clients.
I work from 9.30am to 2.30pm five days a week after which other members of the staff will assist you.
I aim to build good business relationships with our clients in order to overcome any issues that may arise during planning endeavours and beyond, and consciously make an effort to keep clients updated with the status of their applications.
Salman Yousaf
Senior Architectural Technologist ACIAT
Salman joined The Keen Partnership in August 2020, with currently 7 years of experience.
Since joining Salman has been involved with several large residential projects, producing the working & construction drawings with Chris Keen who is usually involved with the project assistance on site.
Salman has quickly grown in confidence in understanding the various construction detailing & producing 3D drawings & BIMX modelling for the various consultants & contractors alike.
He is also involved with smaller house remodeling & extensions.
As with all the staff, Salman is directly involved with the various clients from the planning stage to working drawings & liaising with the various consultants.

Recently completed a Masters degree in Architecture MArch at the University of West of England 2021, achieved RIBA part 2.
Graduate from DMU Architecture BA (Hons) in 2015 achieved RIBA part 1.
Enthusiastic about designing with mental health and wellbeing at the forefront of her designs.
She believes that good design and the quality of space can impact people’s lives and development which drives her passion to design social urban spaces and buildings which improve the lifestyle of the occupants.
With a background routed in art, her creative ideas enrich the design process championing beautiful realistic rendered CGI’s in 2d and 3D and sketch drawings provided in the conceptual stages of a project.
Caryn’s Previous work experience is based in listed residential design-built lead projects with a site sensitive approach, to create a high-quality finish. With 4 years work experience in various practice using ArchiCAD as the main software to provide 3D designs from stages 2 to 5. Her experience in ArchiCAD has benefited the company as she has been able to train staff with less understanding of the software allowing team work to flow better.
Working directly with Chris Keen in various design projects, Caryn is quickly understanding the important links between good design linked to viability & requirements of different Local Authorities.
In her spare time, she enjoys the company of her menagerie of rescue animals, painting and renovating her house.

Architectural Technician
Christos works as an Architectural Assistant for The Keen Partnership on a contract basis approximately 75% of his working time.
Christos had worked full time over previous 5 years but due to family commitments decided the contract basis worked better for him.
Christos is still a valued member & will continue to assist Chris Keen with both Planning & working drawings on both small & larger projects.
It is anticipated that Christos will join the Keen Partnership full time within the near future & he will be welcomed back!
Christos interests- growing fantastic garden produce & cooking great Greek dishes !
